Thrills on the Third
3rd Anniversary
As all who are known south of the border will attest, Mexico will come to a party.
That holds true for church just like everywhere else, as our Hope Chapel Rosarito 3rd anniversary revealed. The celebration turned out to be unforgettable indeed. When Sunday came, the place filled up with guests and regulars alike, all present to acknowledge the goodness of God through the church’s first three years of existence.
The Lord truly visited us in a time of worship, as He did through the preaching, in our continuing series from 1 Samuel. One highlight was the remembrance video, consisting of 172 pictures set to the music of Matt Redman and Laura Story. Throughout the service, there was a clear and united desire to express thanks to God.
But the service was just the start. Twenty minutes after the closing prayer, all chairs were turned to face our baptistry, a borrowed yard pool filled and ready for the occasion. Assisting Pastor Don was Fito Gonzalez, while special visiting guest Jared Mueller led some worship. Those baptized included three who have been with us from the beginning, Santini resident Angelica and two of her sons, Miguel and Andy. Rounding out the special list were Mario and Manny, friends who’ve come to be with us since the move to San Marino.
Of course we finished with food (what else), a feast prepared and shared by everyone: chicken, salads, potatoes, name it.
Like any good church party should, this time highlighted the wonderful faithfulness of God. What a great time we had! All we can say is, we can’t wait for the next one...
Stay tuned!
